Registration is often the bottle neck that holds up treatment and frustrates patients. Recent data shows that nearly seven out of ten patients prefer pre-registration by phone to on-site registration. By handling the pre-registration process before the patient arrives, patients are quickly directed to the clinical service. Wait times are reduced and overall customer satisfaction is improved.

Improved Revenue Cycle
Typical hospital registration processes don’t always capture the latest payor or demographic information. This translates into longer reimbursement times. Beryl’s pre-registration process produces cleaner claims correcting both demographics and payor information. In addition, Beryl identifies self-pay patients up-front and helps arrange financial counseling or alternative payment methods.

Typical Pre-Registration Process includes:

• Verification of appointment, time, date, and location
• Reminder to bring physician referral
• Transfer to scheduling for last-minute changes
• Authentication and addition of payor information
• Confirmation of demographics and key patient information including:
• Work information

• Interpreter needs
• Military Status

Methodology
Beryl provides two options for patient registration:

Option 1 – Data Transfer
In this preferred method, Beryl will receive a nightly file generated from the hospital registration system. Beryl will import the file into our proprietary call handling application to queue, call, and update the patient registration records. Each night, Beryl will transfer the updated file back to the hospital registration system.

Option 2 – Direct Interface
In this option, Beryl receives an outbound file of your hospital patients. However, Beryl will update registration data directly in the hospital registration system via a remote connectivity solution like VPN or Citrix.
