Golf ‘Fore’ Brain Cancer Research at the Barry Spiegelman Memorial Golf Classic

Golf ‘Fore’ Brain Cancer Research at the Barry Spiegelman Memorial Golf Classic

(DALLAS, TX) -- The Beryl Institute, the research and educational arm of The Beryl Companies, will host its third annual Barry Spiegelman Memorial Golf Classic on April 13 at Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club in Keller, Texas to celebrate the life of Beryl co-founder Barry Spiegelman, who lost his battle with brain cancer in September 2005. All proceeds from the tournament will fund brain cancer research at Art of the Brain, UCLA’s Neuro-Oncology Program.

Barry’s brother and business partner, Paul Spiegelman, looks forward to the tournament stating, “Barry helped build the foundation of Beryl more than 25 years ago. He took the Latin phrase ‘Carpe Diem’ to heart with a never-ending positive attitude, unwavering zest for life and a passion for golf. By hosting this tournament, we demonstrate our support to find a cure for this often-fatal disease while participating in one of his favorite activities.”

Tournament fees of $150 per person include course fees, contest awards and a post-tournament reception with silent auction and raffle prizes. Sponsorship opportunities are also available and range from $500-$5,000. Registration and further details can be found on the official golf tournament Web site, www.barryspiegelmanmemorial.com.
